HELLO!
My name is Kaylei McGaw and I’m a prop stylist. I build spaces and create ‘little worlds’ for commercial and editorial projects. I collaborate with photographers, art directors, designers, artists, and architects to bring beautiful content to life for marketing campaigns, editorial publications, brand portfolios, look books and more. I love creating visuals that tell great stories.
My path to Prop Styling began with a degree in apparel and textile design, followed by working for fashion stylists in New York City. From there I landed a job as an editor for an interior design magazine where I began assisting on photo shoots. It was during my time as an editor that I realized I wanted to be on set as much as possible- behind the scenes of photo and video making. I began pursuing prop styling full time. I started my freelance career styling interior spaces, later expanding to product styling, editorial spreads, and propping for food and beverage shoots. In 2016 I moved from New York to Melbourne, Australia to write and teach a prop styling class at Mercer School of Design. When I returned to the States I moved to New England and began building Kaylei McGaw Creative. I am fueled by my curiosity and love to collaborate with other fun humans! :-) When I’m not on set, I’m likely to be found “treasure hunting” in flea markets, running around a park with my kids, or making pottery.
